Today, Clayton Equipment welcomed the Burton Upon Trent and District Engineering Society (founded in 1946) for an open tour of the workshop. The visit had been arranged pre-COVID.
Society visitors consisted of current and former engineers. The itinerary involved a company presentation, a workshop tour followed by a Q&A session with Managing Director, Clive Hannaford.
A spokesperson for the society commented that seeing the assembly of the hybrid CBD90 locomotive and a number of other significant components was very insightful.
He further said: His group enjoyed an informative talk from MD, Clive Hannaford, followed by a workshop tour and Clive was most welcoming and very open in terms of answering questions and allowing photography.
Clayton Equipment is proud of its heritage and world leading project solutions in the locomotive sector and the Engineering Society's visit provided the opportunity to showcase the company as its best.
